Shifting Gears USA is expanding its programs to Novato High School starting Fall 2026. The Car Appreciation and Preservation Program (CAPP) and CTE Construction BCT B – Trades will be available to Novato students — along with access to $2,500/year renewable scholarships.

These programs are already active at Terra Linda High School. Novato students will have access to the same curriculum and scholarship funding starting Fall 2026.
Hands-on automotive program covering engine teardowns, carburetors, transmissions, and brakes. Students work on real vehicles and prepare for ASE certification and entry-level technician careers.
The Trades track covers electrical, plumbing, welding, and HVAC — the highest-demand skilled trades in Marin County. Students gain hands-on experience with real tools and materials, preparing for apprenticeships and union entry.

Novato High School students enrolled in CTE programs are eligible for Shifting Gears USA scholarships of up to $2,500/year. Scholarship applications for 2025–2026 are now closed. The next cycle opens in early 2027.
